Since 2011 the Brune’s have been working on creating good ground for Jesus’ Kingdom, in ourselves and around us.

Short snippets about us.

Our History:

It all begins when Kimberly (USA) and Oliver (Germany) met at a conference. Cameras were involved, fishy handshakes, after road trips but what sealed the deal was a common desire to see Jesus Kingdom invade spaces of injustice, and the transformative power of the global church and their wonderful and unique way to love Jesus.

How it went:

This lead us to 4 continents, painful and dark places, suffering and danger, but also beauty and hope in what God was doing through us and so many we worked with. God did wonderful things through us, but we also made mistakes made mistakes, and God’s grace taught us and grew us. We don’t expect that to change.

What we learned:

While working with amazing people all around the world we often missed to listen well and see that most solutions to problems are not coming from the outside but from the inside, for people in communities, who know, love and see their community in a way we never could. We want to help serve and support the soil that already is.

What we bring:

We bring ourselves, our ongoing transformation in us that unites us and gives us hope for the world around us. With that, we bring a wide range of gifts, that we want to use to support local peace makers and transformers, from simply listening, to pastoral care, to coaching and to leadership training and organizational support.

Value 1: Transformational:

The real strength of christian faith is not power claims or moral claims, but transformational power. While there are many issues that need clear legal processes, we want to think strategically, generationally and deeply into how Jesus offers us transformation. We seek this transformation as much for ourselves as for the world around us.

Value 2: The global Kingdom

Jesus claims to be the second Adam, the christian story goes beyond any ethnic groups. Jesus desires to do what he did with Israel, to transform them from the inside out. This means that Jesus is a cultural stranger to all of us, and we need a very long table, and a big kitchen, to know Jesus and reveal him to the world.

Value 3: A relational way of being:

We are created in the image of a Trinitarian God who embodies both diversity and unity. With humility and a servant-hearted attitude, we seek to honor the unique treasures God has placed in every culture. Jesus desires to be expressed authentically within all cultures, and we strive not to impose our own cultural expectations, avoiding any stumbling blocks to God’s work.
